I have always been a huge advocate of volunteering my time for the betterment of our community. I have seen first-hand how that service brings people together. One of the factors that drew me to Hawkins as a perspective employer is their generosity to our community here in Boise. They are not like some companies that just write a check to a charitable organization and be done with it. Hawkins climbs into the trenches and does the work too.
Idaho Gives is a statewide non-targeted fundraising campaign for all non-profit organizations in the state of Idaho. This year the event runs from April 29th through May 2nd. Hawkins has supported this campaign for many years.
Brian Huffaker, Hawkins’ CEO writes, “Hawkins has a long-standing tradition of donating goods, services, and financial support to worthy charitable organizations. As a matter of fact, the Hawkins Charitable Contribution Committee has established the following as its mission statement:
Our mission is to make a positive and lasting impact on society through charitable contributions and donations. We are committed to supporting education, providing relief for the needy, addressing housing challenges, promoting animal care, empowering women, and enriching the lives of youth through various programs.”
This year’s auspicious recipients include City of Good, which strives to build a sustainable food system by supporting local food producers and ensuring equitable access to local food for Boise children, seniors, refugees, veterans, and others. https://cityofgood.com/ Meridian Canine Rescue helps at-risk dogs with behavioral issues by providing rehabilitation and training and offering free and low-cost resources to their caregivers. Meridian Canine Rescue and for our Arizona campaign Hope Women’s Center provides a safe haven for at-risk women and girls across Arizona to get back on their feet. https://hopewomenscenter.org/
